Today, we had the honor of joining forces with The Wease Show 95.1 The Brew in Rochester, NY to discuss cyberbullying and Time magazine's just released "Top Ten Lists" for 2012 and the video of Klein being bullied ranking third on the list of "Most Viral Videos" of the year.
Brother Wease even encouraged his listeners to support our national awareness tour campaign and fundraising partnership in 2013 with Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker to help address cyberbullying in the US and Canada.
During the interview, we discussed ways for Brother Wease to get involved in our Upstate NY anti-bullying rally campaign to help bring cyberbullying legislation to New York and create awareness for the Jamey Rodemeyer Anti-Cyber Bullying Bill (aka Jamey’s Law).
Thank you Brother Wease for helping us get the word out about a worthy cause. Our own Karen Klein from Rochester, the bullied upstate New York bus monitor who got national attention after a video of boys lobbing insults at her went viral, has turned the third most watched negative video into a positive.

October is Pacer Center's anti-bullying prevention month.
In light of recent events, our Artists Against Bullying family and friends have shown their support for putting an end to bullying by teaming up with Play Pretty, Play Pals Project and various campaigns, including JNFE's No Bully Tour 2012, Breje's No Bullies™ program, Miss Teen USA 2012 Logan West's 'Bully Proof: Empowering Children Today to Stop Bullying Tomorrow' anti-bullying initiative, and others.
So many around the world have been anxious to find out what the bullied grandmother was going to do with the excess of $700,000 donated on her behalf from over 80 different countries.
“My foundation is not about reinventing the wheel. The intent is to utilize this money to support great organizations that are already fighting the fight against bullying. Along with Chris Surrey and Project54Tour, we will develop some new material and create new events that will take the anti-bullying movement further than ever”, explains Karen Klein.
One of the first projects created is a not-for-profit CD project entitled ‘Bullying Behavior In America: Words Do Hurt, Vol. 1’ that brings together songs from world-renowned and local talent from a variety of genres to help spread the StopBullying.gov message and improve the quality of life for our youth and young adults.
Musical artists Beau Badrick, Adam Web, NATEKid, Marckel Robinson, Still Saffire and Testimony are amongst the myriad of performers on the CD. Already, the anti-bullying song created by BREJÉ called Facebook Lover, has garnered the attention of Top40-Charts.com.
The single and music video tells the story of a male teen that has a crush on a classmate and how this fondness is communicated through interaction on Facebook, today's most used platform for communications for youth across the United States.
The Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation currently has 4,000 Play Pretty & Play Pals books available for purchase through its website, the sale of which will help bring more awareness to the Anti-Bullying campaign and generate funding support for our educational content program.
Each book is a $20 gift and we're encouraging children's book lovers, musicians, teachers, principals, faith leaders, elected officials, corporations, and anyone who's involved in our children lives to purchase a single book, bulks of 25 to 250, or the entire stock to support our campaign.

Karen has partnered with Miss Teen USA 2012 Logan West to support her anti-bullying initiative, “Bully Proof: Empowering Children Today to Stop Bullying Tomorrow.” The program, which Logan started in Connecticut, aims to empower student leaders to help prevent bullying in their community.
Logan West, who was a victim of bullying at a young age decided to join Klein on the upcoming No Bully Tour 2012 as a Co-Host in Washington, D.C. and Hartford, CT her home State.
“I’m excited,“ Klein said. “Just being able to go to several different states and spread the message, and also be able to work with Miss Teen USA is going to be great.”
Klein decided to create the foundation after meeting with Chris Surrey, the Senior Director of Paintbox Labs, a New York-based organization that promotes cultural understanding. Surrey interviewed Klein for an unreleased documentary called “Bullying Behavior in America,“ and she indicated to him that she would like to do something positive with the donation money.
“I told Karen we were not just going to do a foundation, but a foundation that would actually be doing something and not just putting money into an account,“ Surrey told TODAY.com. “It was about her becoming an advocate of her own story. You rarely hear about kids bullying the elderly, so we wanted to use that as a platform to get into schools to assist them to curb the problem.”
Together, they will create educational content on the subject of bullying, provide resources to those organizations in need of help, and assist in developing anti-bullying programs in schools across America.

After receiving more than $700,000 in donations following the release of a viral video of her being viciously taunted by a group of middle school students, Karen Klein has used the money to launch an anti-bullying foundation.
Klein, 68, is a retired school bus monitor from Greece, N.Y., who received donations from at least 32,000 people online in less than two months after the taunting videos were posted on June 19 and received more than eight million total views. Looking for something positive to do with a portion of the donations, she has created the Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation.
“I thought it would be a great idea, and I’m hoping this foundation will seriously help all these kids,“ Klein told TODAY.com. “It’s also not just kids. When you’re a kid being bullied, you should talk to an adult. When the adult is being bullied, I don’t know who the heck they can talk to. That’s why I want to help.“

Hi, my name is Karen Klein. As many of you know, I am the woman who was bullied on the school bus in upstate NY. That experience was one of the worst acts of human behavior that I have ever had to endure. But just weeks after I was bullied and the YouTube video went viral, a man I never even met decided to do one simple act of love. Max Sidorov, out of the goodness of his heart, decided to raise money through a social media campaign that would enable me to take a vacation.
My story inspired more than 32,000 people to engage in their own act of love by donating to a fundraising campaign created by Max for my support. As you probably know, together we raised a lot more money than what I needed to go on vacation. 32,000 people around the world raised $703,873 for my behalf. It has changed my life forever. Now, I am not only going on vacation, but I am able to retire and take care of my family.
You have all inspired me by your acts of love. But now it is time for me to give back and to turn your single act of kindness into my own personal movement to stop bullying in America. The Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation, which I am seeding with $75,000, will be the gathering point for millions of people to support the anti-bullying movement. Together, we will change the world.
Let’s dream big, really big! The Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation is launching a music tour to combat anti-bullying. We are calling this the No Bully Tour 2012 awareness campaign. If we were able to raise $700,000 for one person (me), I am sure we can raise thousands more for kids who are bullied every day.
Mission of The Foundation
The goal of the Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation is to help teach kids and teens about being kind, friendly, and playing nicely with others.
One of the most important skills young children should learn before they attend school is the ability to interact with their peers in a friendly and positive manner.
In an effort to reinforce this message, the Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation will help introduce educational content on the subject of anti-bullying into schools across the nation.
The Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation will focus on four main initiatives:
• Develop new media assets that will serve the cause of anti-bullying
• Create educational curriculum that will teach about Bullying and what each of us can do to stop it
• Support great organizations that are bringing awareness to the anti-bullying movement
• Provide Funds for anti-bullying counseling in schools across the country and around the world
The Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation is not about reinventing the wheel. We are raising this money to support great organizations that are already fighting the fight against bullying.
In addition, along with Chris Surrey and Project54Tour, we will develop some new material and create new events that will take the anti-bullying movement further than ever. All the money that is raised through the Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation will support projects that everyone can follow. Any money that is granted from the foundation will be given to causes that support our mission.
